What A Good Time Management Organizer Software Package Should Be Able To Do For You

If you have lots of appointments, tasks and events to attend to, a good time management organizer software package is something you absolute must have on your computer. It will make your life so much easier that you soon won’t be able to believe that you could ever live without one. What should one be looking for before deciding on which package to choose?

Unless you are a computer geek who like to spend hours figuring out how things work, one of your primary concerns should be ease of use. If you need a PhD to figure out how to enter tomorrow’s meeting or your anniversary date, you will soon grow tired of it and not enjoy using it. Luckily many of the better packages have a creation wizard so it’s really easy to enter new information using an intuitive step-by-step approach.

Another feature that comes in very handy is the ability to export and import data to and from another calendar package. You will only realize the importance of this if you have been using your current package for six months and you then find something better. If you can’t export your data, it means you will painstakingly have to enter everything into the new package again.

Any calendar package that is worth its salt should have the ability to view information on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. There can be little else as frustrating as having to click through day after day to get to your appointments for a specific day. What you want is the ability to view all appointments for a given month at a glance and then to drill down to a daily or even hourly view.

A feature that you will use a lot is that of being able to print your calendar. You don’t want to have to carry your laptop with you all the time to be able to see your appointments. It makes much more sense to print your daily schedule when you start working in the morning so you have it available all the time.

If you (like many of us) keep on forgetting the birthdays of friends and family members, a birthday calendar which you can print and put on your office wall is a very good solution to that problem. You should be able to add new birthdays with ease (and remove ones too). All you have to do then is to print a new copy and hang it on the wall.

Another important feature is email and/or cell phone integration. You should be able to set up reminders of all important meetings, including recurring meetings, and the system should be able to email or SMS you with a reminder about that meeting before the time.

There are a large variety of time management organizer software packages available all over the Internet. Some of them are free and you might get a surprisingly good one this way. If you really want a sophisticated package you are more likely to have to pay for it. It will, however, no doubt prove to be an excellent investment.
